The Cycle

Story

When she was a child, Anura's mother told her that the world outside the forest was a dead wasteland. That the corruption they saw around their home was even worse beyond the river. That the people who live out there were monsters who would sooner kill them than talk to them. The little girl believed her for so long, living cloistered in a small section of the forest, afraid.

But she got older. She saw the animals and plants around her die, and she wanted to stop it. She thought she could go beyond the borders of her cage and find the source of the corruption.

Instead, she found that the corruption came from the house she grew up in.

Her mother was right about one thing. The people out there didn’t want her around. The moment they saw the crescent birthmark on Anura's cheek, they called her a child of the cursed moon and tried to kill her. 

So Anura returns to the so-called Forest of a Thousand Frogs, ready to go back, to return home. Questions fill her mind. Why did her mother lie? What is really causing the corruption? She and her mother have much to talk about.

Gameplay

As a point and click, all you need is to do exactly that. 

Find items and combine them with each other, or use them on the environment to progress. Combinations of items can also be used to craft spells which will then help you in other puzzles.

About

The game was created as an entry to the narrative-driven-jam-7 and - of course - does not contain even half of the content we planned for it. However we are planning on updating the game after the Jam ends.

Voice Acting is already half way implemented. After the jam, there will be an updated version.
